My contribution

Maintained and enhanced the existing CodeIgniter application, including PHP 8.1 compatibility and reCAPTCHA troubleshooting. Developed policy-quiz changes that require policy acceptance before assessment, evaluate answers on the server and save passed results.

Application context

The reviewed codebase also includes staff registration, induction forms, qualification and certificate records, leave requests, manager review screens, reports and scheduled notifications. These describe the wider application, rather than a claim that I originally authored every module.

Engineering focus

Improving an existing PHP application while retaining its business workflows. The case study describes selected maintenance and feature work; it does not claim a full rebuild or security certification.

Worked as a full-stack WordPress developer during 2023–2024, maintaining the custom WordPress/WooCommerce learning-management platform and managing application code through Bitbucket and GitHub.

Project context

The wider website presents curriculum, lesson resources and learning materials for schools and home educators. This case study focuses on my development and maintenance role, rather than authorship of the curriculum, media or the entire original platform.

Contributed website development work to this project. The public website uses WordPress and Elementor and combines informational content with form-based visitor journeys.

Project context

The current site includes zakat category pages, calculators and a payer-information flow. These are project-context observations, rather than a claim that I authored every calculator or the payment backend. No financial, tax or religious-compliance certification is claimed.

Built the tutor login and profile flow, authentication context, session checks and protected navigation. The front end calls WordPress endpoints for login and session validation.

Scope & status

A front-end prototype with API integration points. Backend endpoint implementation and production rollout are outside this case study.

Building merchant setup screens, persisted business and tax identity settings, and server-side MyInvois authentication within an authenticated Shopify application.

Integration detail

Merchant identity changes reset the stored validation state. API authentication uses server-side configuration and a merchant-specific taxpayer identity.

Active development. No certification, tax-compliance guarantee or production approval is claimed.

Implemented Filament user administration, role policies, panel access checks, and suspension/reactivation behavior. Access requires an eligible role, verified email and an active account.

Protecting administration

Rules prevent self-suspension and suspension of the final active super administrator. Authorization and suspension behavior have dedicated tests.

Scope & status

Foundation stage. Admissions, student records and the wider academic workflows form the planned expansion, rather than completed functionality.
